inundow.shop-pro.jp/?pid=5174849Take a look at that coming out this month. According to a shitty babelfish translation it is a "non-corrected" version of Stop Jap, which seems to have different lyrics and things. And also two bonus I guess unreleased tracks "YOU" and "Never mind the bollocks" or something, which are apparently prototypes of Money and the michiro song THE STALIN. Also it seems newtons oblige is being released again.

Thanks for the reassurance, bloodykev. I'm just about to put in my order too - Stop Jap Naked plus Newton's Oblige on CD...also I might get that new Michiro Endo book, with all the Stalin lyrics in it (in Jap), coz I "think" it has lots of photos too in it. I'll take the punt.
Bloodykev, how is Stop Jap Naked different from the Stop Jap we all know? Does it sound more raw & classic? What are the bonus tracks like? Packaging? Any booklets or inserts or whatever?

Yeah the sound is raw and much more punky sounding with some different lyrics, backing vocals and guitars. Some songs sound better others do not. The track YOU is just MONEY with totally different vocals and lyrics and ive never heard the last track before. The packaging has a nice slip case with a silver logo , theres info and lyrics all in Japanese in the cd booklet and then a small book inside with photos and flyers etc., Overall a really nice thing to own.

My shipment arrived from Japan YAY! "Stop Jap Naked" is cool, it sounds more raw as has already been mentioned, and I'm sure some songs are different takes or versions, not just remixes. The bonus tracks are "You" which is a different version of "Money" (with different lyrics), and "Never Mind The Bollocks", which seems to be a proto-version of the song "The Stalin" on Michiro's "The End" album from '85. This song reminds me of Sex Pistols' "Holidays In The Sun", with a similar sort of riff. The songs on this sound like they were put through some compression rack in the mastering, like they were taped off FM radio or something! It makes the songs sound raw but kinda slick too. I like it! I got the book too! It is a thick ~A5-size paperback, filled with every single lyric Michiro ever wrote through his musical history I suppose, but all in Jap ... However there are photos (mostly b/w, a few colour at the very start (or end? ha ha)), interspersed throughout. At the back (or is it front?) there are thumbnail pics of every record, video, zine & book ever released, from earliest to most recent. Damn the Japs! They should include English translations of everything ha ha! Snobs! Also included in the book is a CD which contains a wmv file called "No Do", which is Michiro performing 2002 acoustic versions (with drummer) of mostly early The Stalin songs!

I downloaded Stop Jap Naked off of you and it is bloody awesome to have new mixes of these songs. There is a big compression thing to the sound - the original STOP JAP sounded like it'd just been turned up really loud (not that there's anything wrong with that) but with this one there's more space, you can hear the bass a lot better on some songs and the vocals sound a lot more awesome in places (like in Allergy B, Michiro's speak/singing sounds more menacing than on the normal album - i dunno whether that was intended).
Some songs from the album have slightly different lyrics, but obviously I have no idea what they mean. And I still have no idea what Stop Jap Naked actually is. Is it the original mix or a new mix? Since some songs sound like different recordings I guess it's an old thing.

Thanks for the reviews so far, sounds very interesting. "They should include English translations of everything" Speaking of those I love the English (or Engrish) translations in some Japanese releases, I've noticed they'll put " ??" when they can't figure out a line of lyrics. My favorite misheard translation, Damned's cover of Ballroom Blitz has the line "she thinks she's the passionate one" as "she thinks she's the fashion worm."

The lyrics on the OG Stop Jap were deemed "offensive" at the time and were not released. Stop jap naked is the rude version I suppose.
